The Bay Street with Berkshire Avenue Intersection Improvement project will consist of upgraded replacements to traffic signals, asphalt pavement, and concrete sidewalks. Other improvements will include bicycle and bus accommodations, additional turn lanes, pavement markings, signage, and landscaping. Construction will be funded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation through the Pioneer Valley Region’s Transportation Improvement Program at a cost of approximately $1,800,000. Ludlow Construction Company, Inc. has been contracted to perform the work.

Project construction began in May 2020 and is anticipated to continue until June 2021. Motorists and pedestrians should expect delays, lane closures, alternating one-way traffic, and other inconveniences that are necessary to complete the construction efforts in a timely and safe manner.  If possible, please consider seeking alternate routes.
