PUBLIC NOTIFICATION FOR EPA BROWNFIELDS

CLEANUP GRANT

The Public is hereby notified that on August 26, 2026 the Springfield Office of Planning and Economic Development will host the first of its public meetings regarding Brownfields cleanup activities at ES Pinevale Street (former Chapman Valve Site). The meeting will present an Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) for the site. A copy of the draft ABCA is available below, for public review and comment beginning on August 19, 2026. Please submit comments on the ABCA by contacting the Deputy Director of Economic Development at bconnors@springfieldcityhall.com or 413-787-6020. All comments must be received by 10:00 am on September 23, 2026. A public meeting to discuss the draft ABCA, and to receive public comments, is scheduled for Wednesday August 26, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Springfield City Library – Indian Orchard Branch, 44 Oak Street, Indian Orchard, MA 01151.

Assistance for non-English speaking or hearing impaired residents will be provided if re-quested at least four (4) business days prior to the scheduled meeting. All interested persons are urged to attend this meeting.
