The Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway in Springfield

The Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway includes 3.7 mile stretch along the Springfield riverfront which provides outstanding opportunities to bike, run, walk or rollerblade in view of stunning scenic vistas of the Connecticut River, the Springfield city skyline, and Memorial Bridge. The riverwalk passes through Springfield's Riverfront Park and offers direct access to the new Basketball Hall of Fame via a pedestrian bridge.

About the Connecticut River Walk

The River Walk is a linear park along both sides of the Connecticut River planned to extend through the communities of Agawam, Chicopee, Holyoke, Springfield and West Springfield. The completed portions of the River Walk in Springfield and Agawam feature:

  • paved paths for strolling, jogging, bicycling and rollerblading;
  • scenic overlooks and nature trails;
  • urban promenades with benches and picnic areas;
  • safety and security features such as bicycle-mounted police patrols.
