Online Summer Program Registration Information

Step 1: Prepare Your Account (Available Now)

Go to the Online Registration page: log in here

Starting April 23, 2026, parents/guardians can:

  • Create an account
  • Add or update child information
  • Add or update pick-up agents
  • Complete the required CDBG information update, including household size and household income

Setting up your account early will help registration go faster.


Step 2: Register on Your Assigned Date

Registration opens at 10:00 AM on each program date. Spots first come, first served.

  • Monday, May 11, 2026 — Kiley Summer Program
  • Tuesday, May 12, 2026 — Camp STAR Summer Program
  • Wednesday, May 13, 2026 — ECOS (Forest Park) Summer Program
  • Thursday, May 14, 2026 — Van Sickle Summer Program 

Step 3: Make Sure Your Child Is Eligible

Age Requirement:

  • Must turn 6 years old by July 1, 2026
  • Cannot turn 14 years old before July 2, 2026 

Residency Requirement:

  • Child must live in Springfield
  • Proof of address may be required within 48 hours if residency is questioned 

Step 4: 

Deadline: Friday, June 12 at 1:00 PM

All children enrolled in our Summer Programs are supported by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. Because of this, government guidelines require verification of each child’s legal status through the SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) database.

Bring the following documents to the Recreation Office, address below:

  • Copy of each child’s birth certificate
  • Signed Declaration of Consent to Verify Legal Status (Form will be provided in person) *The last four digits of the child’s Social Security number are required.*

All SAVE information collected will be submitted to the City of Springfield Office of Development Services Division.

Step 5: 

After completing registration:

  1. You will receive an email confirmation with your child’s program site
  2. Submit required documents by June 12 at 1:00 PM
  3. Program staff will email important details, including:
    • Family Handbook, Drop-off and pick-up locations, what to wear and bring, etc.
  4. First Day of Program: Wednesday, July 1, 2026 

Required documents must be submitted before the program begins, or the participant may be removed from the program at the Recreation Director’s discretion.


Camp STAR – Additional Requirement

Deadline: Friday, June 12 at 1:00 PM

Camp STAR participants must also submit:

  • Physical exam and immunization records (dated within one year)

Waitlist Information

  • Each site has 10 waitlist spots
  • Families will be contacted if a space becomes available 

Please note: The registration system sends automatic emails when you create a parent account, add a child, and complete a program registration. Be sure to check your junk or spam folder and allow emails from wadmin@springfieldcityhall.com so you don’t miss any messages.
