City Tree Service Request
The Springfield Forestry Division manages all of our tree service requests through the Springfield 3-1-1 system.
Click here for the online 3-1-1 system to enter and track your service ticket or dial 3-1-1 on your phone. If you are outside the city, you can also dial 413-736-3111
Request Types
For all requests for service on City Trees, the first step is for the City Forester to inspect the tree and determine necessary follow-up action.
The Forestry team performs the following services:
- Pruning / Trimming
- Stump Grinding
- Planting New Trees on Tree Belts and Public Property (for FREE private tree planting see Greening the Gateway Cities Springfield for more info)
- Hazard Tree Removal (must be inspected by Forestry Staff)
- Storm Emergency Response
- In the case of a life-threatening emergency or if a tree has fallen on powerlines, call 9-1-1 immediately
- If large branches or debris fall during a storm or a tree fails and is a road hazard, when entering a 3-1-1 request include that it is a *storm emergency* and our response team will be on-site ASAP.
Unauthorized Work on City Trees
