The City of Springfield Board of Elections announces that early voting for the General Election, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 will be held in the city between Monday, October 24 and Friday, November 4, 2016.

Ten sites across the city have been selected as Early Voting Centers and are listed on the Elections website. Voting by mail during the early voting period is also permitted.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I’m very appreciative of Election Commissioner Gladys Oyola, our various city departments, and the League of Women Voters working in concert to make this happen. Every election from the federal level down to local races are important. We must remember and never forget those who fought and gave their lives for the sacred right to vote.”

“There has been a great deal of interest in Early Voting and we feel that it will generate quite a few voters.  Early Voting will be a simple process that does not require an application when voting in person.  Here in Springfield we want everyone to vote and we are happy to provide additional office hours and locations in an effort to encourage voter turnout,” said Election Commissioner Gladys Oyola.

The state primary will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016. There is no early primary voting.
