Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, along with Chief of Staff Bill Baker and Mayoral Aide and 2019 Springfield Colleen Rose McCaffery, joined with Police Superintendent Lawrence Akers and the Springfield Police Department contingent to march in the 72nd annual Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday.
Mayor Sarno states, “Irish eyes are smiling! It was a breezy but beautiful day to once again march in the annual Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Parade along with our brave and dedicated men and women in blue. I am always honored and proud to march with our Springfield Police Department and appreciate all who joined to march, spectate, support, and especially those behind the scenes who make the events of the day happen. From the excellent Springfield Colleen Dr. Seuss float built with the help our Putnam High School Carpentry team, to the Libertas Academy drum team, the Black Rose and Claddagh School step dancers, bag pipers, brass band, and stilt walkers, everyone brought out their best and did an excellent job. Until we meet again, my friends, good health and God Bless.”
The Springfield parade contingent was led by our 2025 Springfield Parade Marshal Kathy Tobin. The 2025 Springfield Colleen Ayslin Dziedzic, and her court (Chloe Sullivan, Cara Pagnoni and Sarah Daponde) rode atop the Springfield “Dr. Seuss” themed float which was constructed with the help of our Putnam High School Carpentry Department.
