Mayor Sarno welcomes visit from Unity Hearts Foundation team

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno welcomed the founders of the Unity Hearts Foundation Emmanuel Owusu & Naefia Padi, and their team for a meeting today. Unity Hearts Foundation hosts the annual African Community Festival which will take place this year on August 9, 2025 at Marshall Roy field from 12-7:00pm. The African Community Flag Raising will be held City Hall on August 8th at 10:00 am. Today, on behalf of the Unity Hearts Foundation, the group presented Mayor Sarno with a special card signed by members of our Springfield African community wishing him well.

Mayor Sarno states, “I am deeply touched by this heartfelt gift of prayer and well-wishes. It means a lot that the community came together and took the time to think of me. Emmanuel, Naefia, and the Unity Hearts Foundation team do an excellent job with their annual African Community Festival and continue to give back to the community. The annual celebration of African, culture, heritage, and community contributions is a family-friendly event with plenty of fun for children with games, music, African cuisine, and more. We are looking forward to joining in celebration this summer. They also shared with me about another special event happening for our youth next month at Renaissance school. Continued success to the Unity Hearts Foundation team. God Bless.”
