Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Springfield Public Schools (SPS) Superintendent Dr. Sonia Dinnall, the city’s Chief Administrative and Financial Officer (CAFO) Cathy Buono, SPS’s Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFOO) Patrick Roach, and Mayor Sarno’s Chief of Staff Bill Baker met today with Congressman Richard Neal along with the Congressman’s Deputy Chief of Staff Elizabeth Quigley, and Communications Director Jack Chamberland.
Mayor Sarno states, “I deeply appreciate our Congressman ‘Richie’ Neal and team for coming in today to brief our city team on the recent Whitehouse memo pausing federal funding. We are grateful to Congressman Neal for answering our questions about the funding implications for our city, including our schools and education programs. We will continue to monitor the situation and move forward when possible.”
