Mayor Sarno stated, “The City of Springfield is proud to celebrate Hanukkah with our Jewish community. I want to thank Rabbi Chaim Kosofsky, Rabbi Noach Kosofsky and everyone at the Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy for continuing these important cultural traditions. The annual lighting of the Menorah in our beautiful Court Square is something we look forward to each year, and especially now with our Court Square improvements in the final stages and looking beautiful once again. Our Jewish community has showcased perseverance, fortitude and strength in spite of the unsettling rise in antisemitism in the world. Now more than ever is the time to stand in solidarity with our Jewish community and take a moment to celebrate the blessings we have this holiday season.”
