Mayor Sarno joins Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) to Celebrate Season Opening Night this Saturday and Kick-off the SSO’s 81st Season!

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno welcomed the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) including SSO President and CEO Paul Lambert and New Artistic Advisor Mei-Ann Chen to his office on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the kick-off of another season with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra which will open this Saturday.

Mayor Sarno presented the SSO with a proclamation to honor the start of its 81st season, titled “A Tapestry of Music.” The SSO’s 2024-25 concert season will feature nine performances, each with world themes highlighting the universal language of music that the SSO refers to as its most diverse and creative season to date. Opening night will be on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Springfield Symphony Hall.

The Springfield Symphony Orchestra is the largest Massachusetts symphony outside of Boston. It consists of over 65 musicians from the NE region of the United States and Canada, and holds many performances in a given season – as either the full orchestra or in ensemble formats. Mei-Ann Chen appears by arrangement with Opus 3 Artists, LLC.
