We are grateful for your service and continued brave and dedicated efforts in keeping our Springfield community safe.  Wishing you continued good health and God speed.”

Superintendent Akers stated, “I would like to congratulate these officers who worked extremely hard to earn these promotions.  I task these first line Supervisors to make difficult decisions on the street and nurture our young and soon to be even younger department.  This group has different and unique perspectives to bring to our Uniform Division.  Sergeant Regan has excelled in our Special Victims Unit and will be guide our officers through sensitive situations and often-times dangerous domestic disputes.  Sergeant Cochrane has the pedigree from his father and has thrived in both our C3 Unit and Detective Bureau which will help our officers balance a connection with our community and proper procedures for violent crimes.  Sergeant O’Shea with his three decades on the job has likely experienced just about anything that our officers will encounter.  Family and friends of these newly promoted Supervisors should be proud of their efforts and achievements.  I will be expecting you to live up to your oath, be a leader for your fellow officers and remember to both serve and protect our community.”
