Mayor Sarno attends Springfield Vietnamese Cultural Association Moon Festival

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined the Springfield Vietnamese Cultural Association for their annual Moon Festival on Sunday afternoon. The traditional Moon Festival is a holiday where family and friends can gather together to celebrate with song and dance and enjoy mooncakes, a traditional Vietnamese treat.

Mayor Sarno states, “I was honored to once again attend and join with our Springfield Vietnamese community as we celebrate the annual Moon Festival. The Vietnamese American Community has been a thriving community here in Springfield, especially the Forest Park neighborhood. The Springfield Vietnamese community have contributed so much to our city, the Commonwealth and the Nation – from businesses, education, medical, public safety, public and military service, entrepreneurship, industriousness, the respect of their elders and seniors, and the importance of education for their young people – my administration is proud to support and recognize the great contributions our Vietnamese community have made in the world. We had a beautiful evening of festivities with dancing, dragons, and lanterns lit as we celebrated Springfield’s vibrant and diverse Vietnamese community this weekend.”
