The Springfield Police Department, the New North Citizens Council including Executive Director Maria Ligus, and Chief Operating Officer Jose Claudio, along with residents and community supporters for the National Night Out (NNO) event in the North End that took place at Jaime Ulloa Park on Tuesday.
Mayor Sarno states, “I always look forward to joining with our brave and dedicated men and women of the Springfield Police Department, our neighborhood councils, and our residents, businesses and community supporters for our National Night Out events across the city. It is always a good time to be with our friends at the New North Citizens Council – thank you to Maria Ligus, Jose Claudio, and the whole team at NNCC for your continued work to support our families and community and keep them connected to important resources. The NNCC collaborated with our city Parks team under Tom Ashe to also host a Movie in the Park tonight following NNO so families can enjoy a movie under the stars with the whole neighborhood. This family-friendly event also features food, music, entertainment and more that helps to bring our community together in support of community, neighborhood and police relations. So come on out and enjoy everything there is to do as we stand together as a community against crime in our beloved city.”
