City of Springfield Announces Bass Pond and Paddle Club Temporarily Closed to Swimming

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton Harris, and Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management Director Tom Ashe are alerting the public that Bass Pond and Paddle Club are temporarily closed to swimming.

The City of Springfield, after being notified by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP), is advising residents that swimming at Bass Pond and the Paddle Club is closed until further notice due to the high bacteria count exceeding the minimum allowed.
