City of Springfield Invites Residents in the South End to vote on Neighborhood Investments

In-person workshop for South End June 25

South End residents are invited to attend the final workshop for their Neighborhood Investment plan on June 25 from 6-8 pm at the South End Citizen’s Council offices, 510 Main Street to vote for their top investments for their neighborhood.

Crime prevention through environmental design, improved street lighting, and eliminating vacant lots are emerging priorities. Please join representatives from your South End Citizens Council to share your priorities.

Residents, business owners, community-based organizations and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend; dinner will be provided.

For residents who cannot make it to the in-person meeting, please go to the project website and vote for your top 5 investments at www.pvpc.org/spfld-nbhd-plans.

The City of Springfield is developing Neighborhood Investment Plans for 11 of its 17 neighborhoods. The focus of this work is to restabilize the neighborhoods that were disproportionately negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The City is using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to support this project, which will continue through the end of 2024.

The full neighborhood plans are available online, including a detailed description of each phase of the project with dates and stakeholders identified.
