|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Chief of Staff Tom Ashe wished Jimmie ‘JJ’ James a very happy and healthy retirement. After 36 years of dedicated service to the City of Springfield, JJ is ready to call it a career. JJ started off as a Senior Building Custodian with the Springfield Police Department and later moved to the Facilities Department and in 2021 was promoted to Assistant Municipal Group Maintenance Building Coordinator.

Mayor Sarno states, “The JJ Shuffle, one of the best building and facility personnel we have.  JJ is such a good guy and always did a great job for our city, going above and beyond taking care of our Police Department building and City Hall too.  Congratulations to JJ and his beautiful wife Valerie.  Wishing him good health and continued success on a well-deserved retirement.  Hoping the fish continue to bite where every you may cast your line.”
