Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with NE Pizza Fanatics Chris and Lisa DiMauro on their podcast today to highlight some of the city of Springfield’s most delicious and recognized pizzas from across the city. Mayor Sarno and the DiMauro’s enjoyed pizza slices from some of the great Springfield Pizzerias including the iconic Red Rose Pizzeria, along with neighborhood favorites Indian Orchard Pizzeria, Antonio’s Grinders & Pizza, and Family Pizza Europa.
Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank our local Pizza Fanatics, Chris and Lisa DiMauro, for inviting me onto their podcast to highlight some of Springfield’s most delicious and recognizable pizzas. This was the best meeting of my day! Springfield and our neighborhoods have some of the best and recognizable pizzas in Western Massachusetts and probably all of New England. The flavors, crust, toppings and aroma truly stand out and make each pizza pie unique and enjoyable. As a first generation Italian-American, pizza, bread and other Italian dishes were a staple in our households growing up. I want to thank our iconic Red Rose and the Caputo family, and neighborhood favorites Indian Orchard Pizzeria, Antonio’s on State Street and the Vatrano family, and Family Pizza Europa and the Bonfiglio family for participating so we could share our love for pizza and go down memory lane sharing some Springfield history of these establishments and others that used to be around. All that was missing was a little ‘vino’! Our local Pizzeria’s are all about ‘la famiglia’, family, and the hard work, love and dedication that goes into these neighborhood businesses is to be respected and commendable. So go out and grab a slice or pizza pie from your favorite neighborhood pizzeria and enjoy!”

Indian Orchard Pizzeria is located at 422 Main Street in our Indian Orchard Neighborhood.
Antonio’s Grinders and Pizza is located at 1030 State Street in our Bay Area Neighborhood and at 17 Longhill Street in our lower Forest Park/South end neighborhoods.
Family Pizzeria Europa is located at 715 Sumner Ave in our Forest Park Neighborhood.
