Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris, and Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan met with Springfield Pride Parade founder and CEO Taurean Bethea and his mom Sylvia Bethea who also serves as Springfield Pride Parade President on Friday to discuss this year’s 3rd annual Springfield Pride Parade event that will be taking place on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Mayor Sarno stated, “Our Springfield Pride Parade event continues to grow each year and we are so proud to continue this new annual tradition each June. Thank you to Springfield Pride Parade founder and CEO Taurean Bethea and President Sylvia Bethea for coming in to give updates and continue our collaboration on this successful event. I am grateful to our city team, including HHS Commissioner Helen Caulton Harris and CDO Tim Sheehan, and all who participate and help make this event special and successful. We are looking forward to our 3rd annual Springfield Pride Parade on June 1st – I hope to see you there!”
The Springfield Pride Parade's 2024 Ruby Lee Scholarship Application is NOW OPEN!
Springfield Pride Parade Organization welcomes high school seniors to apply for the 2024 Ruby Lee Scholarship in the amount of $1500. Please see below for application and submission criteria.

LGBTQIA+ identified high school seniors who are residents of Springfield, MA.

Minimum of 3.0 GPA

Who have been accepted into a post-secondary degree or training program (4 year or 2 year) or trade school.
The deadline to enter is March 15, 2024 at 8:59pmEST. Submissions will be reviewed by the Springfield Pride Parade Executive Board, and the winner will be announced in May 2024. Only one submission per student will be accepted. Please ensure all questions are completed in full and that your responses are ready to be uploaded, as you will not be able to edit the form once it has been submitted.
