Tuthill grew up in upstate New York in Olean and attended the University of Rochester. Radio has always been a passion for Paul. In college he became involved with the local college radio station doing a little bit of everything. He eventually would go on to work for the United Press International until he took a job at WTAG in Worcester in the early 1980’s. The rest was history
Paul served as WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief for over 17 years, covering nearly every aspect of the news in the region from politics and government, natural and man-made disasters including the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, and numerous other news stories and events. Before joining WAMC, Paul was a reporter and anchor at WRKO in Boston and served as the news director for over a decade at WTAG in Worcester. His reporting, work and professionalism has been recognized, winning numerous awards and accolades including two dozen Associated Press Broadcast Awards and an Edward R. Murrow award
For almost 50 years, Paul has been a trusted source of news and information for the residents of Springfield, Western Massachusetts and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Congratulations and happy and health retirement to Paul Tuthill.
