Mayor Sarno and Police Superintendent Clapprood Meet with National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood met with members from the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) today to discuss plans and logistics for their upcoming NOBLE Region I Training conference which they plan to hold in downtown Springfield in May.

Mayor Sarno states, “First, I want to thank Lisa Butner, NOBLE Massachusetts Chapter President, and the NOBLE team for selecting downtown Springfield for their Region I Training Conference.  Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood, Deputy Chief Lawrence Akers and I are honored to welcome this organization to our great city.  Law enforcement is an honorable profession and my administration is proud to share the many advancements, reforms and initiatives that our Springfield Police Department has implemented with the members of NOBLE, especially officer training and mental health and wellness outreach initiatives.  Special thanks to Alicia Szenda from the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau for working with NOBLE and our local partners, businesses and venues, so that their stay will be a memorable one.”
