Mayor Sarno states, “My administration is proud to continue to support the Springfield Carnival Association’s mission to enhance and promote cultural and educational activities in Springfield and surround communities. I have proudly donated to support the Springfield Caribbean Carnival Associations Scholarship program that helps high school seniors of Caribbean heritage who are pursing higher education. I want to thank Fire Chief Curt Marcellin, Richard Richardson and our Springfield Carnival Association for continuing to keep these traditions alive and strong. As I do every year, I am looking forward to joining with our Springfield Caribbean community and celebrating all of the festivities this year.”

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Mayoral Aide Shenell Ford met with Fire District Chief Curt Marcellin, Fashion Designer Richard Richardson and the Springfield Carnival Association today to discuss upcoming plans for Springfield’s annual Caribbean Festivities, including the flag raising ceremony, the Taste of the Caribbean and Caribbean Festival Parade / Carnival and now new discussions and planning to incorporate a fashion week event that tells the stories behind the making of the very colorful parade costumes too – stay tuned.
