Mayor Domenic J. Sarno welcomed Michael Wilk, member of the Polar Plunge Committee, and proudly made a donation to support the 4th Annual Western Massachusetts Polar Plunge event to benefit the Massachusetts Special Olympics. The event, which is hosted by the West Springfield Police Department and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Massachusetts, will take place on Sunday, March 10th at Kingsley Beach at Hampton Ponds State Park in Westfield, MA.

Mayor Sarno states, “I am proud to once again support and donate to this great event that benefits our local Special Olympics here in Massachusetts.  Special thanks to Michael Wilk, Erica Ireland, all of the generous sponsors, and everyone who has donated for keeping this worthy cause going strong.  This is truly a heartfelt cause and everyone who participates in the polar plunge has a good time, with some even dressing up in costumes to get themselves pumped up to take the plunge.”
