Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Chief Development Officer Timothy Sheehan, Housing Director Gerry McCafferty, and Springfield Redevelopment Authority Director Amanda Pham joined for a Zoom meeting today with Governor Maura Healey’s Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities Secretary Edward M. Augustus along with mayors, town managers, and officials from Gateway cities across Massachusetts.
Mayor Sarno states, “I am grateful for the continued collaboration from Governor Healey, Housing Secretary Augustus and team as we face an ongoing housing crisis throughout not just Massachusetts, but the entire country. A matter of critical importance is the need for additional housing units, which requires new construction and redevelopment. We will continue to work toward building more housing, both market rate and workforce, to help stabilize our housing stock and housing costs. My administration will continue to work cooperatively with the state in dealing with housing needs and problems.
