|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Mayoral Aide Shenell Ford sat down and met with Kyreem Kynard, a member of the Mayor’s community stakeholders group, and the team from Wake Up Movement, a nonprofit organization, to discuss continued community outreach initiatives and programs to benefit our residents, especially youth and students. Kynard and Wake Up have been active in the community for some time, volunteering their time and services as barbers for students and providing with free haircuts for kids as part of the back-to-school initiative. The Wake Up Movement builds upon this community outreach and plans to provide various programs and initiatives to help young adults and students enhance their quality of life and help prepare them so that they are successful in life.

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to commend Kyreem Kynard and his team for their continued belief and investment in our community.  Kyreem and his team do a wonderful job in our community, especially with our students and schools, partnering together to provide free haircuts along with back-to-school supplies too.  I am looking forward to learning more about the Kyreem’s Wake Up Movement and the nonprofit work they are putting together.”
