Located at 83-85 Main Street, Indian Orchard, A Brighter Future Childcare Center is owned by Michele Pepe of Springfield and has been in operation for over 30 years. ARPA funding was used to install a new mini-split HVAC system to improve air quality in the facility, as well as make improvements and purchase toys for the outdoor play space area. These upgrades also allow the childcare center to enhance their programming and staffing by having more children play outside while still adhering to all state regulations.
Mayor Sarno states, “Congratulations to Michele Pepe and her incredible team at A Brighter Future Childcare. For over 30 years, this daycare facility has provided much-needed child care services for families, especially caring for foster kids. The incredible staff here deeply care for the children in their care and provide such a nurturing and loving environment. As soon as you walked in you saw smiling faces, playing and learning.”
“I am proud of my administration’s efforts to commit our local allotment of ARPA funding directly into our community and to small businesses that were adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mayor Sarno. “A Brighter Future Childcare Center is a successful woman owned small business that was severely impacted by the pandemic both in the loss of attendance and an increase in operational expenses. The ARPA funds they received provided relief and assistance with the installation of mini-split HVAC system to improve air quality for the facility, along with improvements to their outside play area for the children. Congratulations Michele and team on operating a successful and vital small business for over 30 years. I wish you nothing but the best and continued success.”
