Mayor Sarno Ready to Cheer on Our Springfield Thunderbirds on Opening Night

|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno received his season tickets for the Springfield Thunderbirds home games today from Frank Grimaldi, Manger for Ticket Operations and Retention, and is excited to cheer on our beloved Springfield Thunderbirds on opening night this Saturday. There are limited tickets left, so hurry down and purchase your ticket to cheer on our T-Birds as they make another run to bring home the Calder Cup to Springfield.

Mayor Sarno states, “How bout them T-Birds!  As a longtime season ticket holder, my family, wife Carla and daughters Cassandra and Chiara, and I are looking forward to cheering on our beloved Thunderbirds on opening night to a sellout crowd.  Let’s pack the ‘Thunderdome’ and make another magical run for the Cup!”

“Congratulations to T-Birds President Nate Costa and his team, and our local ownership group led by managing partner Paul Picknelly, for their continued belief and investment in making our local AHL hockey team such a wonderful and overwhelming success,” said Mayor Sarno.  “The energy and vibrancy in our downtown on game days is simply tremendous and electrifying.  Not to mention all of the positive economic spin off to local businesses, including bars, restaurants and hotels.  Something that my administration highlighted with the Thunderbirds, the UMass Donahue Institute and MGM Springfield on Wednesday at the MassMutual Center - $126 million of economic impact locally!”

The Springfield Thunderbirds will host divisional rival, Hartford Wolf Pack, to open their season on Saturday, October 14th at 7:05pm.  For more information, please visit their website at:  www.springfieldthunderbirds.com
