Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank State Representative Carlos Gonzalez for taking the time to sit down and continue our discussions on important legislation pending before the State Legislature. Representative Gonzalez, Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, provided an update on the recently revised Gun bill that is currently pending in the House of Representatives, along with continuing our discussions on my Bail Reform legislation that was refiled by Representative Angelo Puppolo. I am looking forward to learning more about what is in the revised and updated Gun bill and how it could potentially help communities across the Commonwealth address gun violence. I am also encouraged that Chairman Gonzalez brought up my Bail Reform legislation that I continue to refile and look forward to continuing our discussions to get it passed so that we can take the 1-2% of bad actors and repeat violent criminal offenders that terrorize our community off our streets and out of our neighborhoods.”
