Retired Springfield Police Officer and 2018 Springfield Veteran of the Year Jose Feliciano was also in attendance. The Piepul’s are longtime supporters of the City of Springfield’s TJO Animal Control and Adoption Center and have a deep and loving passion caring for our beloved animals and pets.

Mayor Sarno states, “Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood and I cannot thank Jan and Bernadette Piepul enough for their generous donation of $10,000 to our Springfield Police Departments K9 Unit.  Their love and passion for animals and our beloved family pets is truly second-to-none.  They have graciously donated to our TJO Center over the years, including a very generous donation of $23,000 for an X-Ray machine and a new Radiology room.  On behalf of the Springfield Police Department, especially our K9 Unit, thank you!”

Superintendent Clapprood stated, "I am an avid supporter of our K9 Unit and this donation will go a long way to help. Much of how this Unit operates is through donations and I can't thank the Piepul's enough for this incredibly generous donation."
