Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Kathy Brown, Marie and John Koski and the East Springfield Neighborhood Council for their continued dedicated efforts working to enhance the quality of life in the neighborhood. It is important that we continue to hold these check your speed standout events with our Springfield Police Department throughout our city. My administration strongly supports Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood and our Springfield Police Department Traffic Unit’s proactive citywide efforts of reminding motorists not to drive distracted and to slow down. Put cell phones away and be aware of the speed limit. The Springfield Police Department Traffic Unit will continue to work with our neighborhood councils and encourage motorists to slow down through the deployment of the speed board trailer and traffic details using radar and lidar.”
