|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, as a longtime season ticket holder, stopped by the Springfield Thunderbirds Front Office today to renew his season tickets for the upcoming season. Mayor Sarno thanked the dedicated team that works diligently ‘off the ice’ for the great work they do both during the season and the off season. T-Birds President Nathan Costa welcomed Mayor Sarno and provided him with a tour of their ever-growing facility and amenities that care for their players.

Mayor Sarno states, “How about them T-Birds!  My wife Carla and daughters Cassandra and Chiara, family and friends, and I are looking forward to cheering on our beloved Springfield Thunderbirds as they kickoff their season opener on Saturday, October 14th at the Thunderdome!  So come on down and let’s pack the house and cheer on our home team as they make another successful run for the Calder Cup!”

“I cannot thank the current local ownership group, led by managing partner Paul Picknelly, and team management enough for their efforts in operating a successful and energetic professional sports organization,” said Mayor Sarno.  “The energy and vibrancy in our downtown on game nights is electrifying.  Hotels, restaurants, bars and other amenities are packed and thriving thanks in part to our beloved T-Birds!”

The Springfield Thunderbirds will host divisional rival, Hartford Wolf Pack, to open their season on Saturday, October 14th at 7:05pm.  For more information, please visit their website at:  www.springfieldthunderbirds.com
