Mayor Sarno honors Asiala Rivera, Founder of CCR Freight Logistics

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno welcomed CCR Freight Logistics founder, Asiala Rivera and her family; husband Christopher and two beautiful daughters. Mayor Sarno honored Asiala with a proclamation recognizing her for her hard work, perseverance and dedication in the community. City Councilor Melvin Edwards and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Judi Crowell also showed their support.

Asiala is a lifelong resident of Springfield and founder of CCR Freight Logistics, Massachusetts’s first Black/female-owned freight brokerage.  CCR Freight Logistics helps to bring education and careers to the logistics sector of trucking industry.  In April, 2023, Mrs. Rivera was the recipient of the 2023 Black Excellence on the Hill at the State House in Boston.  She was nominated by State Representative Carlos Gonzalez.  In July 2023, CCR Freight Logistics was one of the new business awardees in Mayor Sarno’s 13th round of ARPA awards, which awarded a total of $2.16 million to various small businesses, new businesses and nonprofits across the city. 

Mayor Sarno states, “Congratulations to Asiala Rivera and her beautiful family.  Her company, CCR Freight Logistics, works to support, educate, and develop labor and workforce initiatives within the city and the state in the growing and important sector of the transportation industry.  Her hard work and perseverance have paid off and my administration is proud to work together with her to create and enhance more of that good four-letter word, JOBS!”
