Mayor Sarno stops by to view progress on new DeBerry-Swan School

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stopped by the view the progress on the new state-of-the-art DeBerry-Swan School. The new school is schedule to open for students, teachers and staff this school year.

Mayor Sarno states, “The new DeBerry-Swan School, named in honor of retired State Representative and Civil Rights icon Benjamin Swan, is looking beautiful.  The building looks magnificent.  Superintendent Daniel Warwick and I are looking forward to the schools opening this school year for our students, teachers and faculty to enjoy so our students can learn and grow.”

“I am proud of my administrations efforts, working with the Massachusetts School Building Authority, and our School Committee and Superintendent Daniel Warwick, we have been able to invest over $750 million into building new schools (Brightwood-Lincoln in the North End) and renovating existing schools – the most in the State,” said Mayor Sarno.  “Again, I am looking forward to joining with Principals Elizabeth Fazio and Catherine Roberts, all of the teachers, staff, students and their families for the grand opening for our new DeBerry-Swan School later this month.”
