Mayor Sarno attends Springfield Garden Club’s ‘Welcome to the Park’ Flower Show and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno attended and brought greetings at the Springfield Garden Club’s ‘Welcome to the Park’ Flower Show and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 19th at the Barney Carriage House in Forest Park. The event featured exhibits highlighting the many different activities and areas of our beloved Forest Park.

Mayor Sarno states, “Parks, Buildings and Recreational Management Director Patrick Sullivan and I want to thank Vana Nespor, President of our Springfield Garden Club, for holding their ‘Welcome to the Park’ Flower Show at our beloved and historic Carriage House at Forest Park.  This wonderful event, which Patrick Sullivan and I have worked hard together to bring to our Forest Park, features beautiful exhibits that showcases our beloved Forest Park and draws hundreds of people to the Park from across New England.  My administration is proud to continue to support and invest in our wonderful municipal parks system for everyone’s enjoyment.  Patrick Sullivan and I are especially proud of the exciting investments and development plans for Forest Park, which includes the Clifford A. Phaneuf Environmental Center (ECOS), the Horticulture Center, and the Forestry Operations Center, just to name a few.”
