Mayor Sarno Reads to 1st Grade Students at Frederick Harris Elementary School

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined this morning with students at Frederick Harris Elementary School for a special read aloud. Mayor Sarno’s daughter, Miss Chiara Sarno, is a 1st grade teacher at Frederick Harris and he visited her class today to read “Chicken Little” with the students.

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Principal Kara Harris and the dedicated staff and teachers for inviting me to read to our students. It was very special to visit my youngest daughter Chiara to read to her first-grade class. I am so proud of her and the great work she does for our kids and their families. This is also special because Chiara also went to Frederick Harris School too.”

“I always enjoy visiting our schools and spending some quality time talking with our students. Interacting with the first graders today truly made my day – they were well prepared to show off what they’ve been learning and asked great questions too.”

“There is no limit to what they can accomplish and I am deeply grateful to our teachers for the incredible impact they have on children and families. Today, as I watched my daughter interact with her class, I was reminded that the influence that a teacher can have is truly unending – I can remember bringing her to school when she attended Frederick Harris and now as a teachers she is back there inspiring her students to learn, grow, and achieve their goals just like so many teachers did for her. I’d like to say thank you, once, again, to all teachers and Happy Teacher Appreciation Week.”
