|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stopped by Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing to wish Felix Salzano, a proud World War II Veteran a happy and healthy 100th Birthday on Monday, May 1st. Salzano came to the United States from a small-town North of Naples, Italy when he was 15 years old and served honorably in the US Army Signal Corp. during WWII, with the rare distinction of serving in both the European and Pacific theaters. He is a lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in the South End of Springfield where he is a stable at the 4pm Saturday Mass.

Mayor Sarno states, “On behalf of the city of Springfield, wishing a happy and healthy 100th Birthday to proud US Army Veteran Felix Salzano.  Felix is a lifelong parishioner to my home parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and is always there for Saturday’s 4pm Mass.  Even at 100 years young, Felix is still as sharp and strong as ever.  His charm and personality light’s up the room at our beautiful Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing.  Happy Birthday – Buon Compleanno! Mr. Salzano and wishing you continued good health.  God Bless.”
