Mayor Sarno states, “I’ve been a registered donor for years. It only takes one to save a life and create a legacy.”
Mayor Sarno presented a proclamation declaring April as “Organ Donation Month” in the City of Springfield and joined in raising the “Donate Life” flag at City Hall to continue efforts to educate citizens and others about organ and tissue donation, celebrate the lives saved and enhanced through donation, and honor the donors who made the ultimate gift.
State Representatives Gonzalez and Puppolo also presented proclamations recognizing New England Donor Services, the RMV and the city’s Health Department for their efforts for this cause.
"I also want to thank Molly Shea, my Director of Constituent Services for her efforts in helping to coordinate this wonderful event," Mayor Sarno added.
This month we also encourage our friends, family, and community to learn more about organ and tissue donation and ask everyone to consider registering as a donor. You can register as an organ donor at the RMV when getting or renewing your driver’s license, Real ID, or ID. You can also register online.
