Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined today with Spirit of Springfield President Judy Matt for a special Bright Nights Ball announcement to acknowledge the Honorary Chair, sponsors, and theme for the 2023 City of Bright Nights Ball. The 2023 theme is “Gilded Glamour” and President of Western New England University Dr. Robert E. Johnson will serve as the ball’s honorary chair. The ball will take place on November 11th this year and will once again be held at the MGM Springfield Aria Ballroom. State Representative Carlos Gonzalez was also in attendance.
Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Spirit of Springfield President Judy Matt, her dedicated team, the Spirit of Springfield Board of Directors, and all of the sponsors for everything they do to put together this wonderful and keynote event for our Springfield. This annual event helps keep our beloved Bright Nights lights shining for young and old, and keeps that endearing twinkle in their eyes. From the Pancake Breakfast, Fourth of July fireworks and events, the 911 Memorial ceremony, and the Parade of Big Balloons – you just can’t put a price tag on the moral boost this gives, not only to our City of Springfield, but well beyond. We are grateful to President Johnson and his team for their continued community involvement and for stepping up to support this great event and our Springfield.”
