|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer (CAFO) TJ Plante, Deputy CAFO Lindsay Hackett, and Chief of Staff Tom Ashe continued Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 budget hearings today with the Procurement Office, IT Department, Assessor’s Office, Comptroller’s Office, Treasurer/Collectors Office, Office of Internal Audit, the Mayor’s Office, Elections Office, the Law Department, and the City Council presenting their budget requests.

Mayor Sarno said, “I am grateful to each of our departments who have presented their budget proposals thus far and am looking forward to hearing from our remaining departments this week as we put together a (plus or minus) 860-million-dollar municipal budget. Thank you also to City Council Finance Chair Tim Allen for being with us this afternoon and for his continued partnership with my administration on a number of successful financial initiatives.”

“As always, we are doing our due diligence and will be prepared to deal with ‘the ebb and flow’ of our local, state and national economic landscape. I am very proud of our fiscal management and the award-winning finance team under the leadership of CAFO TJ Plante. Under his sound financial management, we have gained the financial strength and fortitude to implement a cutting-edge investment strategy that is being used as a model across the Commonwealth.”

“In addition, throughout all of the challenges we have encountered, including the COVID-19 pandemic, inflation and economic uncertainty, my administration has maintained the highest bond ratings in our City’s history, along with a strong and healthy reserve. My Administration will continue to provide sound and prudent fiscal leadership for an efficient, effective, strategic and compassionate way to assure that city services continue to be provided for our residents and business community.”
