Mayor Sarno states, “Springfield College AmeriCorps has proudly served our Springfield Public Schools for over 25 years providing social and emotional support, including mental health aspects, to students within the counseling office. They were a very helpful component to my old South End Community Center in my days as Executive Director there too. AmeriCorps members also serve our Springfield community as mentors and coaches. The work they do is simply tremendous and very much needed and it was my pleasure to welcome them to City Hall and recognize their dedication and commitment with a proclamation. Their caring comments were so heartfelt.”
