“Special shoutout to Everett Anderson and his beautiful and lovely wife, who recently celebrated their wedding anniversary. Mr. Anderson is a longtime Peter Pan bus driver who celebrated his 4-millionth mile. That’s 160 trips around the Earth and 20 trips to the moon, NASA would be proud. Simply put a tremendous accomplishment and well deserving of recognition.”
Everette Anderson has been a Peter Pan Motor Coach driver for 53 years since May of 1970.
Anderson is the second motorcoach operator in the history of this country to be inducted into the National Safety Hall of Fame for driving 4 million miles without any accidents.
To put that into perspective that’s 4 million miles as 20 trips to the moon, or 160 times around the earth.
“It’s an amazing accomplishment, and I cannot say enough about the dedication and professionalism that Everett Anderson has had behind the wheel,” said Picknelly. “There have only been two drivers in history to achieve 4 million miles without an accident and both have worked for Peter Pan. This really demonstrates our commitment to safety, and we are very pleased to honor Everett Anderson.”
In addition, Mayor Sarno surprised Peter Picknelly with the Key to the City for his dedication, commitment, and continued belief and investment in Springfield.
“With over 600 employees, Peter Pan Bus Lines continues to be a great corporate citizen and thanks to Peter Picknelly, his family and staff, they continue to the support our Springfield community,” said Mayor Sarno. “When our high school scholar athletes have to travel for a championship game, it is Peter and Peter Pan Bus Lines that steps up and provides a bus so that they can travel to the game. Thank you, Peter, for all that you continue to do for our Springfield.”
