City of Springfield Now Hiring Seasonal Positions

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Human Resources and Labor Relations (HR) Director Attorney William Mahoney, and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Judi Crowell announced today that the city of Springfield is now hiring for seasonal positions.

Some available positions include:

  • Head Recreation Leader        
  • Sr. Head Recreation Leader
  • Therapeutic Recreation Leader
  • Therapeutic Head Recreation Leader
  • Lifeguard
  • Laborer
  • Golf Attendant            (Season runs April – November)
  • Golf Course Worker   (Season runs April – November)

Seasonal programs run from July 5th through August 11th, with the exception of the municipal golf courses which runs from April to November.  Hourly rates start at $15 per hour.

Mayor Sarno states, “I am grateful to our summer recreation staff for making our programs fun and engaging for our residents and families.  These seasonal positions are a great summer job, especially for our young adults and students.”
