|   Community News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Chief Development Officer Timothy Sheehan, and Chief of Staff Tom Ashe joined with JPMorgan Chase Bank Regional Director Roxann Cooke, who did a great job, and members of the local JPMorgan Chase Bank team for the grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration for the new Chase Bank located at 1391 Main Street here in downtown Springfield inside the Harrison Place building. JPMorgan Chase Bank is one of the country’s largest banks and this is their first Springfield and Western Mass brick-and-mortar location. State Representative Carlos Gonzalez and City Councilor Michael Fenton were also in attendance.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank JPMorgan Chase Bank for their belief and investment in our Springfield.  This is yet another positive economic development project that greatly benefit our downtown and supports my administration’s vision and efforts of enhancing the various amenities and services for our residents and business community. From the new Big Y grocery store that will soon open to the potential development of the three properties along Main Street and State Street, this new Chase Bank will serve as an integral piece as part of our downtown central business and convention district. Not only that, but the Chase leadership has also chosen to hire among local talent to staff this new branch, demonstrating they are truly committed to our Springfield community. Thanks for having us into the new location today and introducing your team – your comments that you can feel the vibrancy of our downtown were deeply appreciated, too!”
