Mayor Sarno and PBRM Director Sullivan thank Hampden County Sheriff Cocchi and Crew for Continued Partnership

|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management (PBRM) Director Patrick Sullivan to thank Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi and his dedicated staff, including Assistant Deputy Superintendent Glen Sexton, Residential Supervisor Mel Torres and Community Service Supervisor Ray Rivera for their continued partnership with the city of Springfield. Thanks to their efforts the beautiful and iconic decorative ceilings in the City Council and School Committee Chambers are being touched up. Ray Rivera, Community Service Supervisor for the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office, set up the scaffolding and has been painting the ceilings this week.

Mayor Sarno states, “PBRM Director Patrick Sullivan and I are grateful to Sheriff Nick Cocchi and his dedicated team for the continued partnership with our city of Springfield.  From the tremendous work they do helping inmates and providing much-needed reentry programs, to the community-based outreach efforts and initiatives such as the extra patrols in Forest Park and neighborhood clean up initiatives.  Sheriff Cocchi and his crews are always more than ready to assist.  When Director Sullivan reached out to the Sheriff crews about providing some touch up paint work in City Hall, Ray Rivera responded immediate and took some samples to match the coloring and began setting up the scaffolding.  Thank you, Ray, for always being there and for everything you do for our community.”
