Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Director of Constituent Services and Deputy Communications Director Molly Shea and Mayoral Aide Shenell Ford met with Kristin Neville and Vanessa Ford today to discuss initial plans and preparations for the 2023 Jazz and Roots Festival in the City of Springfield.

The Jazz and Roots Festival is the city of Springfield’s premier annual event that brings together thousands of people from across the region and around the globe right here in the heart of Springfield.  The event includes the traditional Second Line Parade, a New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition in honor of the late Charles Neville.

Mayor Sarno states, “Our beloved Jazz and Roots Festival is a wonderful, high-energy and family friendly event that showcases the beautiful mosaic and diversity of our city.  I want to thank Kristin Neville, Evan Plotkin, Vanessa Ford and team, especially all of the benefactors, for their continued belief, support and dedicated efforts in keeping this iconic Festival going strong.  My administration is looking forward to doing what we can to help support our annual Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival that showcases the power of music that brings people together in unity and harmony at our Stern Square entertainment and dinning districts.  Stay tuned for more great announcements to come.”
