Early Education and Childcare Needs Assessment Survey

|   City News

The City of Springfield is acutely aware that not all residents have access to the high-quality, affordable and accessible early education and childcare opportunities they deserve. In an effort to move towards Universal Pre-K strategically, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno assembled a working group composed of city leaders and various stakeholders in the community in Spring 2022. Over the course of these conversations, it became apparent that a more comprehensive understanding of the current childcare gap and present barriers was required. Under Mayor Sarno’s guidance, the City conducted a Request for Proposals, seeking an independent organization who had the resources, knowledge, and experience to conduct the assessment and ensure that all relevant voices were heard.

The City of Springfield is committed to providing quality early education and childcare opportunities to all residents. We are hopeful that with your help, and a greater understanding of the challenges the City is facing, we will be able to provide the support our community needs.

Parents and Guardians are encouraged to participate in the survey to help identify the community needs to increase accessibility of early education and childcare programming.  Please use the link below to complete the community questionnaire:
