Mayor Sarno meets with College/University Presidents

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Chief Development Officer (CDO) Tim Sheehan and Chief of Staff Tom Ashe met with the Presidents from local Colleges and University’s today to continue discussions of collaboration and partnerships for programs and initiatives to benefit our local students and residents.

Bay Path University President Sandra Doran hosted the meeting, and along with Mayor Sarno and city officials welcomed Springfield College President Mary-Beth Cooper, Springfield Technical Community College John Cook, American International College President Hubert Benitez, Elms College President Harry Dumay, Western New England University President Robert Johnson, Holyoke Community College President Christina Royal, Westfield State University President Linda Thompson, UMass Amherst Deputy Chancellor Steven Goodwin, and Economic Development Council (EDC) President Rick Sullivan. 

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Bay Path University President Sandra Doran for hosting us at her residence at Bay Path.  We had a great discussion and dialogue on how our local regional colleges and university’s can continue to partner with the city to enhance educational, mental health and economic development initiatives for our students and residents.  CDO Tim Sheehan and I are looking forward to continuing to enhance this successful collaboration.
