Mayor Sarno and those in attendance cheered on two students from the South End Middle School who did the Pledge of Allegiance. The two students were also participants as ‘Top Chef’s’ last year during MGM Springfield’s Adopt-a-School program where Mayor Sarno and Superintendent Daniel Warwick joined with the students at the school for a special breakfast cooking event put on MGM Springfield Executive Chef Omar and team.

The Springfield City Council held their 2023 organizational meeting on Monday, January 2nd, electing at-large Councilor Jesse Lederman as Council President and Ward 3 Councilor Melvin Edwards as Vice President. Lt. Governor-Elect Kim Driscoll, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi, State Senator Adam Gomez, State Senator-Elect Jacob Oliveira and State Representatives Carlos Gonzalez and Bud Williams were also in attendance.
