Mayor Sarno and City Department Heads Join Elder Affairs and Springfield Seniors for Special Holiday Luncheon

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and a number of city department heads joined today with Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton Harris, Elder Affairs Director Sandy Federico, and Senior Outreach Liaison Eliana Gutierrez for a special Holiday Luncheon at the Raymond Jordan Senior Center to celebrate our Springfield seniors.

Our Springfield seniors are filled with the holiday spirit and many were decked out in festive and fun holiday attire. City Department heads including Associate City Solicitor Kathy Breck, Licensing Director Alesia Days, Chief Procurement Officer Lauren Stabilo, Aquatics Director Joe Federico, Assistant Human Resources Director Caitlyn Julius, and HR Generalist Chloe Meunier joined to help serve lunch to our seniors.

Mayor Sarno also presented long-serving Council on Aging member Maurita Bledsoe with a proclamation during the luncheon to recognize her dedicated service over the years to enhance and improve quality of life for our seniors.

Mayor Sarno states, “The was in all honestly the very best meeting of my day. Our seniors are so resilient and it was an honor to be with them to celebrate especially this time of year. I cannot thank HHS Commission Helen Caulton Harris, Sandy Federico, Eliana Gutierrez and the whole Elder Affairs team for hosting this luncheon and making it special. Shout out to all the Department heads who were able to come and help serve our seniors. Also, it was an honor to present Ms. Maurita Bledsoe with a proclamation – she simply loves our Springfield and consistently shows it through her service. Thank you, Maurita! Good health and God Bless.”
