Mayor Sarno Issues Statement on 81st Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

|   City News

Today marks the 81st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor – a day that lives in infamy.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “On the 81st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor – we pause and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. May God rest their souls. This is a good time to think of the hardships and ordeals endured by our service men and women every day and everywhere in the world. It is thanks to their service and sacrifice and that of their families that America stands as the greatest nation in the world – the beacon of democracy, strength, opportunity, and hope. I am also proud to announce that we received notification from the National Park Service that the City of Springfield is being recognized as the Massachusetts American World War II Heritage City – a tremendous honor and acknowledgement of our city’s local wartime efforts supporting our troops and allies during WWII. God Bless all of our service men and women and their families, and God Bless the United States of America.”
